David Cofield

Pastor David joined the staff of Rainsville First Family in July of 2015.  David is a native of Boaz, AL, and he has been preaching since the age of eleven and pastoring since the age of eighteen.

He has pastored churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana.

David and his wife, Roxanne, are the parents of two adult sons, Keith and Kevin. Kevin is married to Brooke. They have seven beautiful grandchildren, Cayden O’Neal (02.02.2010), Brooklyn Jane (11.20.2010), Mason Jett (03.14.2013), Abigail Jane (03.21.2014), Baylor Alexander (08.27.2014), Mary Ellis (11.09.2017), and Noah Patton (01.27.2020).

David is a graduate of Samford University (Bachelor, 1983) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., 1987)

Max Grizzard
Associate Pastor and Pastor
to Students and Families

Max joined the staff at Rainsville First Family on November 9, 2022.  He is a native of Rainbow City, AL, and is a graduate of Coosa Christian School and holds a BS in Religion (Major in Church Ministries Youth and minor in Counseling) from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.

Max and his wife, Sherrie, have been married for 32 years and have seven children and eight grandchildren.

He has been on staff at Ponderosa Student Ministries for 22 years serving as a missionary and since 2002 Executive Director of DeKalb County Release Time.

He was licensed by the White’s Chapel Baptist Church (Gadsden) in 1990 and ordained by Faith Baptist Church (Fort Payne) in 1996. He has been in ministry for 35 years.

His life verse is I Corinthians 10:31, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” And considers one of his spiritual gifts to be that of encouraging people in their faith.

Whitney Traylor

Whitney joined the staff of Rainsville First Family in 2014.  She believes that children should be taught the truth about God’s Word from an early age, and she strives to provide a learning environment to do just that.

Growing up in Rainsville, Whitney is a product of the Children and Student Ministries of Rainsville First Family.  She is dedicated to helping the children of our church learn and grow in the love of Christ.

As an organizer, Whitney plans activities that children learn from and enjoy.  She also serves in other areas of ministry at Rainsville whenever possible.

Isaiah Craig
Associate Pastor / Missions

Isaiah Craig

Isaiah came to Rainsville First in January 2024. He and his wife, ShaRhonda, were married in 2006 and have nine children: Zoie (16), Zaria (15), Zimri (14), Zavin (12), ZaiLee (10), Zekaree (8), Zakobi (5), Zyrie (3), Zylas (1)

He was licensed to Ministry by Loretto First Baptist Church (TN) on April 23, 2006, and ordained to Ministry by LaBelle Haven Baptist Church (Memphis) on January 25, 2009 He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Secondary Education from Athens State University, 2007, and has studied at Luther Rice Seminary.

He came to Rainsville from Worcester, MA where he served as the Church Planter/Lead Pastor at Pleasant Street Baptist Church. This is where our church served with him in the summer of 2023. He moved to Worcester in conjunction with the BCNE (Baptist Churches of New England) where he also served as a Multiplication Leader for Central and Western Massachusetts. He has served prior as Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Youth Pastor in Tennessee and Georgia. One of his main callings is as a Church Planter/Mission Catalyst since 2008 overseeing and equipping church planting movements in two nations. He has planned and coordinated multiple trips to India, Nepal, Peru, Uganda, El Salvador and Honduras.
